Living in Bella Vista, Arkansas

Bella Vista started as a lakeside resort and grew into one of the region’s favorite retirement communities. Today it’s also a magnet for mountain bikers, golfers and young families who want wooded lots, quiet streets and Bentonville schools, all just north of Bentonville.
A growing community
The Census Bureau estimated Bella Vista’s population at 28,087 in 2015. The 2020 census counted 30,104, and the 2025 estimate is 34,518, about 6,400 more residents, or roughly 23%, in ten years. Bella Vista only became a city in 2007; before that, the Property Owners Association ran most services. Today the city handles police, fire and streets, while the POA still runs the lakes, golf courses and recreation centers.
